just a little bit about myself before you answer:
i was raised a jehovah's witness by my mother, who got "the truth" by studying with inlaws who were already members.
my father had been disfellewshipped for joining the army a few years before i was born, and has nevered returned to the organization.
My marriage wouldn't survive. Although we love each other, the WBTS is what's most in common between us.
My husband came out of a tough life and the WBTS made a much better person out of him. He's said in the past that he'd go back to his old ways if he was to leave the religion.
I believe him.

when i was a kid in school the teachers always pushed the idea of goals.
i never did because the big a was right around the cornor.
Retire at 67 1/2 with enough health to enjoy retirement.

i have been disfellowshipped for 7 years now, and the other day my mom says she is supposed to stop associating with me.
i know i'm df'd, but i'm family.
i am so upset by them.
In this last District Assembly they said it loud and clear a few times: "Stop all association with disfellowshipped and disassociated ones, even if they're family".
I wouldn't have believed it myself if I didn't hear it. I thought family was different, but apparently not anymore.

as you guys may know, i don't ask too many questions on the forum, as i feel that i have a pretty good grasp on things.

starting sometime next week, i will have my own apartment.
I lived alone for several periods in my life. I've never had a problem since I'm kind of a loner of sorts.
Between work and playing some sport, or joining a book club, or doing charity work of some type, my life was filled during those times in which I had to live alone.
I hope you'll do just fine when you have a place of your own.

a good friend who is a police officer told me last night that he believes a lot of the jw's he has met through the years in his line of work are extremely self-righteous.
i didn't have much of a reply but it did get me thinking about what he said.
so, what do you guys think?
I think that would qualify for "Understatement Of The Year" award.
Of course JWs are among the most self-righteous people on earth!

By the time they announce a disfellowshipment, everybody already knows what's going on and that it's coming. There's no such thing as confidentiality inside the WBTS.

so, i have a job interview on monday for a city government job.
i have worked for a city before and i would really like to work for one again in order to complete my retirement requirement for benefits.
and i really want this job.. i have info about the job and i am studying specific information; however i don't interview all that well as i get extremely nervous.. one of the questions i always have a hard time with is:.
